If there is a topic I am most hesitant talking about, it has got to be Demons. Why? Well, because they’re known to follow those who pay attention to them. So BEWARE! Now that you’re here reading about this topic, you’re most likely to be followed by one too.
Despite my desire to keep a distance from anything having to do with the topic of Demons, I can’t possibly have a blog about Mythical creatures of the Unseen World and not include the very beings which are the link between their world and ours, so here you go…
In many ancient cultures, the word “Demon” didn’t necessarily have the evil meaning that it has today. It simply meant that the being was of supernatural nature rather than mortal. At the time, most ancient Gods were considered “demons”. The words “demon” or “demonic” in modern terminology, have a direct connection to evil. The Devil himself is considered to be a demon - a spirit that seeks to consume the souls of mortals.
The most common purpose of a demon is assumed to be Demonic possession - the overtaking of a human body in order to claim it’s soul.
“It’s soul!?”, Yeah! Let me make this a little uncomplicated for you. We’re nothing but empty corpses to demons. People who have been victims of demonic possession have been controlled to various extents by these evil spirits. The demon tries to physically harm the person’s family, or maybe even the person themself. Although, I believe that a Demon usually seeks to only scare them.
Now you would ask me why I believe so. Well, excessive fear makes a person weak, and the more the demon weakens its victims, the more control it gains over their soul. And by now, you must be well aware that the ultimate goal of a demon is to consume the soul of its victim. Petrifying right!? Yeah, I know.
Why demons seek mortal souls probably has to do with gaining power and growing stronger. In our world, the world of humans; power is seductive. But in the world of demons, power is aggregate.
One question that I’ve asked myself a lot and am really curious about is “How does one summon demons!?”. It just so happens that my anxious self has done an insane amount of research for this one.
Whether or not you believe in demons, it’s VERY IMPORTANT to take the advice of a supernatural and a paranormal expert. There is only one rule when it comes to summoning a Demon. And that is: NEVER SAY A DEMON’S NAME OUT TOO LOUD!!!
Saying a demon’s name may or may not do any harm, but in supernatural theory, taking a demon’s name gives it power and summons it to you. Although, if a demon is already haunting you - there isn't much you can really do about it. Saying its name will only increase its power over you.
Last, but certainly not least, is a suggestion for anyone interested in Demons or Demonology - keep an open mind. As much research as I’ve put into all of this, there still remain many questions about the true nature of these beings, where they come from, and why they remain connected to our world!
